About Giles Hewitt
My approach on any photographic assignment, be it a wedding or family portrait sitting, is relaxed and easy going.
In my wedding work I find that spending time with the couple, planning and meeting at the venue, is essential in the run up to the day and a great way to put a couple at ease. For most weddings I like to take a wide range of reportage and some posed shots that best capture the feeling of the day.
For portraiture I like working with people within an environment where they can relax and be themselves in front of the camera, photography should be fun and if the results are better for an hour or two spent at the beach or even on the golf course, then why not.
Commercial projects tend to mean working more to a brief given to me by my clients. The images required may need to reflect specific aspects of a workplace, the people within it or the products on sale. But certainly as more people use the web as their first reference point, using professional images has now become essential.
